This is a festival attended by families or storytelling enthusiasts who wish to camp in the heart of the desert and participate in activities that celebrate the power of storytelling
The Storytelling Festival takes place in the Tel Arad nature reserve, in the heart of the desert.
The desert and its people, the Bedouins, inspired me. Their traditional embroidery, created by women, is like the stories passed through generations, reflecting the community's tale. It felt like they shared the same language through different arts
I researched traditional local embroidery and began learning to embroider using the cross-stitch technique.
The traditional embroidery method (cross stitch technique) resembles pixels, with each stitch forming a fixed-size square.
I started with the logo.
Visuals of traditional local embroidery have inspired me
It took numerous attempts to plan, execute, and photograph it,
At last, I achieved a satisfactory result.
The subsequent phase involved embroidering the festival map. With three main stages hosting various events, I provided each stage with a distinct symbol for easy identification.
I embroidered a table to create an event planner.
While striving for a pixel-perfect table in my embroidery, I faced the fabric's limitations.
When I scanned it onto the computer and added text, I noticed that the embroidery's stretch created a slight curvature, which didn't serve my propose
I realized that in this case I need to find a design solution on the computer
After scanning the embroidery, I created landing page, poster and cards for the event.
